Zilco's Breast Collar brings a new dimension to this very important piece of equipment. Ultra light and weighing only 19.2 ounces (without snaps), its design spreads the stress over a 2" padded underlayment so that your horse won't even recognize the tough parts of a long ride.

Like all Zilco equipment, it is washable and easy to maintain. This design evolved from Zilco's breeching and breastplates in its Combined Driving Harness - the key stress areas used in pulling and braking heavy carriages over marathon courses.

Soft and pliable, the Zilco material lubricates with sweat. Many customers say it is easier on the skin than leather. Coupled with its featherweight lightness, there's no reason any longer to use either heavier leather or thin, biting other synthetics. Your horse will truly appreciate a hill climb while wearing this breast collar.

Zilco's material is a combination of black elastomeric polymers which look quite similar to leather. But unlike leather, this material allows Zilco tack to be totally washable and low-maintenance. It is totally compatible with the horse's coat, and when the horse sweats under work, its lightness and lubricating qualities keep the horse more comfortable. While other synthetics may also be easy to clean, any similarity stops there.

Zilco material has a flat, black, matte finish look. It is NOT Biothane® belting or nylon. Our hi-tech materials are laminated around pre-treated web, so you get strength without abrasion, plus soft pliable edges and workmanship sewn by a third generation saddler. You almost have to see it and feel it to believe it.
